MEET THE ARTIST
I Like to describe myself as a painter of light and color. With camera in hand, I am drawn to the brief moments of illumination, when light hits form and color is at it’s most beautiful. I paint from these light filled images sometimes using oils, watercolors, pastels or even a combination of the latter two.
My subject matter is any object which reflects this illumination. It can be a person, a scene, or any object (even as common as a tin can). I paint landscapes, portraits and still lifes. My style can be described as impressionistic to loosely realistic.
I obtained a degree in art from the University of Arkansas and have continued my education
through books, galleries, and workshops. I have followed the special artists who share my
passion for light and color, namely Wolf Kahn and Joaquin Sorolla, as well as the impressionist and post-impressionist painters.
It is my hope that my paintings will inspire others to recognize the beauty which surrounds us
and will lift their spirits as it does mine.
